Description For Hardware Engineer PhD (Intern) United States

Cisco is seeking a Hardware Engineer PhD Intern to join their innovative team. This role offers the opportunity to impact product development from circuit design to large system design and see your contribution through to large volume manufacturing. You'll work with open-minded, driven, and creative people designing hardware that makes the internet work. Your work will impact billions globally across various product categories including cloud, social, mobile/wireless, video, VoIP, large data, collaboration, web, Internet of Things, routing, switching, IPv6, data center, HPC, Telepresence, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to hardware engineering areas such as ASIC Design and Verification, System/Board Design, Circuit Board Layout, Hardware Automation, Validation and Test, Signal Integrity, and Power Design
  • Manage multiple tasks and work toward long-term goals
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Establish and sustain positive relationships with an extended team

Qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Science, Material Engineering, Applied Physics, Math, Physics, or related major
  • Proficient experience in hardware engineering areas
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
