Description For Senior Systems Engineer - Acacia

Acacia Communications, a part of Cisco, designs intelligent transceivers using advanced signal processing and photonic integration for high-speed fiber optic transmission in data center, metro, long-haul, and ultra-long haul telecommunication networks.

As a Senior Systems Engineer at Acacia, you will:

  • Act as a liaison between customers and Engineering groups
  • Support and address technical questions from customers, including network equipment manufacturers, hyperscalers, and internet service providers
  • Work with System Application Engineering (SAE) and R&D teams to support all coherent and non-coherent products
  • Focus on enabling customers and partners to successfully develop and deploy next-generation telecom systems
  • Capture, replicate, define, and resolve diverse and highly technical issues
  • Influence future product feature development and current product modifications
  • Provide technical guidance and educate customers on Acacia products
  • Work with SAEs to support customer Engineering lab and deployed system field issues
  • Advocate for customer product needs and standards-based features
  • Author application notes, product specifications, and Python scripts
  • Contribute to technical presentations and marketing documents
  • Provide full life cycle technical support for Acacia products in HW and SW areas

You will collaborate with entire R&D teams (DSP, ASIC, Optics, Software, Photonics, and Hardware) in a collaborative environment that fosters success and personal growth.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about solving system-level challenges in optical transceivers, detail-oriented, high-energy, and driven to get things done. You should be capable of working independently while also participating in team collaboration. Strong communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with coworkers and customers are essential.

Requirements For Senior Systems Engineer - Acacia

Python
  • BSEE degree with 7+ years of industry experience in optical communications, or MS degree with 4+ years of experience, or PhD with 2+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of industry experience in OTN and/or Ethernet
  • Coding/scripting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
