Software Engineer (Intern) Mexico

Cisco is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for their Guadalajara, Mexico location. This role is part of Cisco's global team working on programming magic across various departments such as Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Security and Trust. The intern will play a crucial role in driving next-gen software innovations including cloud, mobile, desktop or security spaces.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you'll get hands-on experience working with applications that make technology accessible across devices. You'll be involved in developing software and tools in support of high-impact technology platforms such as operating systems, networks, databases and more. The role requires a keen eye for detail, as you'll be ensuring programs are easy to use and bug-free.

The ideal candidate is a software developer with exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for tackling complex challenges. You should have outstanding organizational skills, a keen aptitude for managing time efficiently, and a desire to streamline and enhance existing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related program; within 6-months of graduation
• Up-to-date on programming and scripting languages: C/C++, Python, and/or Java
• Hands-on QA, Testing, and/or Debugging skills
• Proficiency in English (strong command over both written and spoken English)
• Must reside in Guadalajara and be legally authorized to live and work in Mexico without visa support or sponsorship

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Linux, Networking concepts, OS fundamentals, Embedded Development, and/or ML
• Experience with Databases, Web Application Development, and Web Services
• Knowledge in Computer Networking and/or Cybersecurity
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
