Software Engineer – Kubernetes Platform (Kubernetes Development)

Cisco IT is transforming its platforms to run the next generation of cloud-native and multi-cloud services. As a Software Engineer in the Kubernetes Platform team, you will be responsible for developing tools and integrations for a portfolio of cloud infrastructure services running Cisco's critical business services. You will collaborate with other core services team members to define roadmaps, write user stories, design, and build solutions. Key responsibilities include developing microservices and APIs in a cloud-native model, ensuring quality and scalability of services, automating development and deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines, and driving the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of software development experience, strong programming skills in Go and Python, and expertise in Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Google Anthos platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a small team to transform how infrastructure platforms are developed and managed with full software automation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Technical leadership in OpenShift and Google Anthos platforms
• Strong programming skills in Go and Python
• Experience with EKS and GKE
• Knowledge of GitOps, Terraform, and Ansible Automation
• Experience with cloud-native applications and containerized environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or related field

Desired Skills:

• CKA Certification
• Software Architecture experience
