Technical Consulting Engineer - Network Security/Firewall

Cisco is seeking a Technical Consulting Engineer specializing in Network Security/Firewall to join their Technical Services team. As part of the Global Technical Center, Americas, you'll provide 2nd/3rd level technical support for Firepower Security technologies to Cisco customers, partners, account teams, and other Technical Assistance Center engineers. You'll apply analytical skills and technical knowledge to tackle product and network problems of moderate to high complexity, provide technology/product training, and act as a focal point for large account network problem resolution.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical support for Cisco security products
• Handling a wide variety of technical support problems
• Applying lab setups to recreate and tackle problems
• Submitting defect reports with collaboration and supervision
• Working with minimal direction within defined procedures
• Collaborating across technology boundaries for quicker resolution

Technical qualifications:

• Fundamental knowledge of networking industry, products, and protocols
• Experience with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewalls, FTD, Firepower, FMC, Cisco IOS Firewall, Cisco Security Manager, and more
• Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Linux, Unix, and various networking tools

Desired skills:

• BS in a technical field or equivalent 5+ years related experience
• Experience in designing, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting networks
• CCNP, CCNP Security, or CCIE Certification preferred
