We are seeking an IT and Security Engineer to join our team in a remote position based in Canada. This role combines IT support and cybersecurity responsibilities, making it perfect for professionals who enjoy both aspects. The position involves managing critical security infrastructure, including SSO, MDM, and EDR systems, while also providing essential IT support. You'll be responsible for maintaining security compliance with SOC 2 and PCI DSS standards, conducting security assessments, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of IT experience with cybersecurity expertise, strong technical skills in security tools, and programming capabilities in Python and JavaScript. Responsibilities For IT and Security Engineer
- Provide daily IT support to ensure smooth business operations
- Manage hardware and software inventories
- Manage Single Sign-On (SSO) Identity Management solution
- Oversee Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution
- Maintain and support email security protection
- Support SaaS applications
- Manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system
- Facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Conduct security assessments and audits
- Deploy and manage security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, WAF)
- Monitor security alerts and events
- Participate in incident response activities
- Support compliance efforts with SOC 2, PCI DSS
- Develop and maintain vendor risk management program
- Secure cloud environments
Requirements For IT and Security Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- At least 3 years of IT experience, with minimum 1 year in cybersecurity
- Proficient with security tools (SIEM, EDR, Firewall, IDPS, WAF)
- Familiarity with SOC 2, PCI DSS frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript
- Strong technical skills
- High ethical standards and integrity
