Description For Civil Engineer

The City of Fort Worth, the fastest-growing big city in the U.S. serving nearly 1,000,000 residents, is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Water Capital Delivery team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the community while enjoying an excellent work-life balance.

The position comes with a competitive annual compensation range of $86,611 - $101,824, plus a $5,400 sign-on bonus split between the first pay period and 6-month employment mark. As a Civil Engineer in the Capital Delivery Section, you'll be responsible for overseeing water and wastewater pipeline design, management, and construction projects. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Professional Engineer registration (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and 4 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of project management.

Key responsibilities include reviewing construction plans, managing complex water/sewer projects, interpreting TCEQ requirements, and providing technical leadership to team members. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with various stakeholders and overseeing critical infrastructure developments.

Responsibilities For Civil Engineer

  • Review construction plans for residential, commercial, and industrial developments
  • Manage complex water/sewer projects from pre-development to post-construction phase
  • Interpret TCEQ design requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to engineering technicians and staff
  • Supervise and coordinate section's day-to-day activities
  • Oversee pre-development meetings, plats, and various cases
  • Analyze and resolve planning/development-related problems
  • Coordinate with Field Operation staff on construction issues

Requirements For Civil Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Four years of civil engineering experience as a registered professional engineer
  • Two years performing project management in water and wastewater projects
  • Professional Engineer registration in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service and time management skills
