Civilitude LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Engineer to join their dynamic team in Austin, Texas. This mid-level position requires a Professional Engineer license in Texas and 4+ years of experience in civil engineering, focusing on field engineering. The role involves implementing sidewalks, bikeways, and urban trails through the preparation of schematic plans, cost estimates, permits, and field engineering of accessible infrastructure in compliance with ADA/TAS/PROWAG.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Frequent travel to project sites (50-75%) for fieldwork
  • Performing initial walkthroughs and scoping with City Project Managers and GC Superintendents
  • Communicating with stakeholders and coordinating with various departments
  • Assisting in permit preparation and cost estimation
  • Attending meetings and presenting status updates
  • Overseeing daily reports and photo documentation
  • Scheduling inspections and managing punch lists
  • Verifying work compliance with engineering specifications

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management, strong communication skills, proficiency in technology for data collection and project management, and a willingness to work onsite in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities For Field Engineer PE

  • Travel to project sites (50-75%) to complete fieldwork
  • Perform initial walkthrough of project assignments for scoping
  • Communicate with property owners, tenants, and other stakeholders
  • Assist in preparation of General Permit plans and standard TCP
  • Assist in preparation of cost estimation after scoping walkthrough
  • Schedule and attend preconstruction meetings
  • Present status updates at biweekly progress meetings
  • Coordinate with ATD and ATSD for various project aspects
  • Capture daily photos and oversee preparation of daily reports
  • Obtain right-of-entry authorizations when needed
  • Schedule RAS inspections and manage punch lists
  • Attend quantity walkthroughs and review pay applications
  • Verify work compliance with engineering specifications and permits
  • Review construction documents and address discrepancies

Requirements For Field Engineer PE

  • Professional Engineer license in Texas
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 4+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on field engineering
  • Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using technology for data collection and project management
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Interest or experience in civil infrastructure projects
  • Willingness to work onsite in various weather conditions for extended durations
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) Preference
