Description For Staff Software Engineer

CLEAR, a leader in digital and biometric identification, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build the next generation of products that go beyond just ID and enable members to leverage the power of a networked digital identity. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll participate in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying applications to enhance our platform, which interconnects various attributes and qualifications while prioritizing member privacy and security.

Our tech stack includes:

  • Java / Javascript / React / Typescript / Python / Postgres
  • AWS cloud

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance capabilities across industries and domains, gaining hands-on experience with privacy, security, data modeling, and architecture
  • Develop and deliver full-stack code, driving engineering excellence through best practices in testing, documentation, and observability
  • Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to uncover requirements, innovate, and solve complex problems
  • Take ownership of architectural decision-making and strive for continuous improvement in technology and processes

Requirements:

  • 9+ years of software development experience
  • Experience with cloud-based application development, including:
    • Cloud services providers like AWS
    • Containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
    • Collaboration, integration, and deployment tools like Github, Argo, and Jenkins
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a curiosity about technology
  • Autonomous and able to identify what's important
