Senior Backend Engineer, Views

ClickUp is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Views Squad, focusing on building and optimizing tier 1 services at the heart of ClickUp's all-in-one productivity platform. The Views Squad owns the core feature of ClickUp, which involves viewing, sorting, and filtering tasks. This highly visible product area requires performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will be passionate about architecting reliable and highly performant distributed systems, excel at debugging and writing complex code, and enjoy the challenge of building and maintaining a platform that every team in the company relies on.

Key technologies include Typescript, Postgres, Kafka, and NestJS running on EKS in AWS. The role involves building features and systems with attention to detail and performance, owning end-to-end development, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, identifying and implementing improvements to existing systems, and helping establish a world-class engineering culture.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, 5+ years of experience in engineering performant and high-throughput systems, experience with SQL queries at scale, event-based systems, and AWS. The ideal candidate should be exceptionally productive, have a track record of building performant systems, be an empathetic communicator, comfortable with ambiguity, and product-minded.

Preferred qualifications include experience with large-scale SaaS platforms, NestJS, micro-services, event-driven architecture, GraphQL, and expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL.
