Description For DevOps Automation Engineer

CloudHire is seeking a Senior DevOps Automation Engineer for a 100% remote opportunity with one of their US-based clients. This role requires a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience in DevOps and automation.

As a DevOps Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining functional systems that enhance customer experience. Your duties will include deploying product updates, identifying and resolving production issues, and implementing integrations to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software engineering, with familiarity in languages like Ruby or Python.

Key responsibilities include implementing customer-requested integrations, deploying updates and fixes, providing Level 2 technical support, and developing tools to improve system reliability and customer satisfaction. You'll also be involved in root cause analysis for production errors, script development for automation, and designing procedures for system maintenance.

The role requires extensive experience with various technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS services, and DevOps tools like Jenkins and Ansible. You should be proficient in REST API development, have experience with cloud architecture (particularly AWS), and be familiar with IaC technologies like Terraform.

Requirements For DevOps Automation Engineer

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture, systems architecture and engineering, analysis and applications programming
  • Expertise in implementing complex full-stack solutions including API, Micro-Services, Streaming, etc. in large Enterprise organizations
  • Proficient with REST standards and best practices and hands-on experience in developing RESTful APIs
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in working with AWS as a solution architecture
  • Experience with AWS VPC design and Implementation, Cloud formation scripts, AMI, and Consolidated Billing for multiple AWS accounts
  • Familiarity with leveraging ECS, EKS, and Fargate services
  • Familiarity with AWS database services such as PostgreSQL RDS, Aurora
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and technologies for IaC such as Terraform
  • Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, Docker, and Elastic Bean Stalk for DevOps teams
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as ELB, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, and App Mesh
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • AWS Certifications preferred
  • Experience with Groovy, Python, AWS automation of deployments and services provisioning and configuration
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment practices
