Senior Software Engineer

CloudZero is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their cross-functional team focused on delivering a delightful experience for customers managing cloud costs. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and systems for the main application, which leverages serverless technologies to create a scalable, event-driven architecture. The platform ingests and normalizes millions of events from customer environments in real-time, using tools such as Snowflake, AWS Lambdas, and AWS Step Functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining APIs and complex backend systems in the cloud
• Scaling the platform to handle larger datasets and bigger organizations
• Writing readable, maintainable, and extensible code
• Collaborating with team members to build features solving real customer problems
• Improving engineering processes and systems for fast iteration and impact

The ideal candidate should have:

• 5+ years of experience building APIs and complex backend systems in the cloud
• Experience managing and manipulating data at scale
• Proficiency in Python for backend development
• Passion for design patterns and pragmatic application of theory in system architecture
• Comfort working with cross-functional teams and synthesizing feedback into polished products
• Ability to work 9-5 EST, with some flexibility
