Description For Founding ML Engineer

Coco is revolutionizing urban logistics through their innovative fleet of on-demand delivery robots. As a Founding Machine Learning Engineer, you'll work directly with the CTO to build Coco's autonomy stack from the ground up. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of last-mile delivery by leveraging millions of miles of delivery routes and sensor data.

You'll be responsible for developing cutting-edge machine learning models that power autonomous vehicle systems, from perception to decision-making. The role involves working with various sensors (LiDAR, cameras, radar) and implementing sophisticated algorithms for object detection, path planning, and real-time control. You'll build and optimize deep learning models using both simulation and real-world data, ensuring they meet rigorous safety standards.

The position offers competitive compensation ($150K-$225K) plus equity, reflecting its senior-level responsibilities. Based in the Bay Area or LA, you'll have the chance to build and lead a high-performance autonomy team. The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of ML/robotics experience and deep expertise in neural networks and autonomous systems.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to revolutionize urban logistics, working with state-of-the-art technology in robotics and AI. You'll be instrumental in scaling Coco's robot-to-pilot ratio, ultimately making efficient, sustainable last-mile delivery accessible to everyone in urban areas. The role combines technical excellence with leadership, offering significant impact on both the product and team development.
