At Coco, we're revolutionizing last-mile delivery through innovative robotics solutions. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll join our Hardware Engineering team in our Playa Vista, Los Angeles headquarters. You'll be responsible for designing and developing robotic delivery vehicles that serve thousands of customers worldwide. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of mechanical design, electrical systems, manufacturing, and logistics.

The position requires hands-on involvement in all aspects of product development, from initial concept sketches to full-scale production. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, electrical and software engineers, and operations teams. Your work will directly impact our mission by improving the reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness of our robot fleets.

As part of our office-first culture, you'll experience a high-energy, collaborative environment where your contributions directly influence the company's success. You'll own projects end-to-end, working with cutting-edge technology in the rapidly growing field of robotics delivery. The role offers competitive compensation ($140K-$160K) plus equity, reflecting our investment in top talent.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer

  • Design, develop, and optimize robotic delivery vehicles and related products
  • Work with cross-functional teams to bring innovative hardware solutions from concept through production
  • Define requirements, manage timelines, ensure product quality
  • Design robot assemblies, sub-systems, and components
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Optimize and refine existing hardware systems

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, developing consumer, industrial, automotive, or aerospace products
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and expertise in generating production-ready technical drawings
  • Demonstrated experience designing for manufacturing processes
