Description For Principal Verification Engineer

Codasip is seeking a Principal Verification Engineer to join their innovative team working on cutting-edge RISC-V CPU cores. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on clean-sheet designs that push technological boundaries in CPU design. Based in the UK (Cambridge or Bristol), you'll be responsible for verifying complex, state-of-the-art CPUs, including advanced out-of-order processors.

As a Principal Verification Engineer, you'll take ownership of design portions, applying various verification methodologies and setting high standards for a new platform. You'll work with RISC-V processors, develop verification solutions, and collaborate closely with team members on delivery of verification activities from start to finish.

The ideal candidate brings significant commercial experience in processor verification methodologies, strong coding skills in languages like SystemVerilog, Python, or Go, and demonstrated leadership in mentoring other engineers. Knowledge of RISC-V architecture and formal verification experience are valuable additions.

Responsibilities For Principal Verification Engineer

  • Verify RISC-V processors and extensions
  • Develop verification solutions
  • Collaborate with other engineers in team delivery
  • Define, estimate, prioritise and track work
  • Define verification strategies for block and sub-systems
  • Review technical specifications
  • Run simulations and debug complex issues
  • Track and report verification metrics
  • Craft automated verification flows

Requirements For Principal Verification Engineer

  • Significant commercial experience with functional processor verification methodologies
  • Knowledge of verifying CPU architectures or complex IP
  • Fluency in SystemVerilog, Python, C++, Rust, or Go
  • Past verification ownership of multiple design blocks
  • Analytical thinking and team collaboration skills
  • User knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of versioning tools (Git, SVN)
  • Experience with guiding, mentoring or coaching engineers
  • Good knowledge of computer systems and architecture
  • Knowledge of RISC-V Architecture (preferred)
  • Experience with formal verification (preferred)
