Our rapidly growing startup is looking for an AI Research Engineer to join our Foundational Models AI team. In this role, you will be working with a small group of AI researchers advancing bimanual manipulation and using multimodal models to create better human-robot collaboration. You will be reading the latest papers, evaluating and implementing algorithms, and sharing your findings internally with our teams and externally in the AI community.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build experimental machine learning pipelines that underpin core functionality of our robotics solutions.
- Keep up to date with the latest robotics ML research and implement promising techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models and data pipelines into real-world robotic applications, ensuring robust and scalable outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Understanding of multimodal models, modern ML architectures (transformers, diffusion models, etc.), and imitation / reinforcement learning.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Familiarity with robotics and simulation stacks.
- Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
- Must have and maintain US work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement ML experimentation and data pipelines with high-quality code that enables fast iteration cycles.
- Experience with grasping, dexterous, and/or bimanual manipulation
- Practical experience with ML software engineering best practices – for example, experiment tooling, data pipelines, model training, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with edge compute architectures.
