Description For Platform Engineer

Collectors is a pioneering technology company revolutionizing the collectibles industry since 1986. With over 1,700 employees across global offices, they provide authentication, grading, and trading services for various collectibles including coins, trading cards, video games, and memorabilia. Their Platform Engineering team is seeking a skilled DevOps engineer to join their Internal Platform team, which is crucial in maintaining and scaling their robust infrastructure.

The role involves working with cutting-edge cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and requires expertise in Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Terraform, Kubernetes, and various CI/CD platforms. They'll be responsible for building automation capabilities, implementing monitoring systems, and ensuring the platform's security and performance.

This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic international team and make a significant impact in their inaugural Guadalajara office. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling rapid, secure, and stable application delivery while maintaining best practices in IT, Networking, CloudOps, DevOps, Database, and QA.

Responsibilities For Platform Engineer

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and services
  • Help development teams to build their Infrastructure through a self-serving platform
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure automation issues
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Crossplane
  • Architect & Build innovative automation projects
  • Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines
  • Advocate for best practices in DevOps
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies
  • Be part of a weekly on-call rotation

Requirements For Platform Engineer

Kubernetes
Redis
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible DevOps experience
  • 4+ years of direct experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines
  • 4+ years of AWS cloud experience
  • 4+ years of experience in managing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
  • Kubernetes and Docker experience is mandatory
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
