commercetools is seeking an Engineer (m/f/x) to join their team in Valencia, Spain. This role focuses on payment systems and will work closely with the Product Manager and Omnichannel Leader to enable retailers to use commercetools' solutions across channels. The ideal candidate will have experience in payment processing, PED devices, and backend engineering. They will be responsible for designing and developing scalable and secure payment systems, implementing in-store payment interactions, and contributing to the team roadmap. Responsibilities For Engineer (m/f/x)
- Design and develop scalable and secure payment systems
- Design, implement and test in-store payment and payment device interactions
- Work closely with Product Management to understand business needs
- Contribute to the definition of the team roadmap
- Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met
- Work with engineers from different teams
- Take part in on-call rotation for production systems
Requirements For Engineer (m/f/x)
- 2+ years of engineering experience supporting a physical setting including payment processing and PED devices
- Experience integrating, implementing, and supporting at least one major PSP provider / gift card processor
- 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer developing server-side systems
- Knowledge of cash accounting principles, payments localisation considerations
- Experience with PCI DSS
- Experience with Typescript or Javascript
- Solid understanding of parallel and asynchronous programming, as well as non-blocking I/O
- Experience in developing REST API's and knowledge of scalable architectures
- Knowledge of document databases (Mongo.db) and API interaction tools
- Fluent written and verbal English language skills
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment
