Description For Cybersecurity Engineer

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is at the forefront of fusion energy innovation, backed by over $2 billion in capital since 2018. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in securing operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems. Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity, you'll be responsible for maintaining and advancing the OT cybersecurity program, working collaboratively with IT and OT teams to implement robust security measures.

The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic security planning, requiring expertise in industrial control systems security, SCADA/HMI systems, and cybersecurity frameworks. You'll be implementing security controls, monitoring threats, developing policies, and responding to incidents while helping build a culture of security awareness.

Responsibilities For Cybersecurity Engineer

  • Implement security controls for OT environments including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls
  • Monitor OT vulnerabilities and threats using specialized tools
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures for OT security
  • Respond to security incidents and restore operations
  • Provide technical consulting on security matters
  • Implement security by design process with OT business units
  • Analyze and recommend security controls in business processes
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness via outreach and training
  • Monitor and administer IT cybersecurity tools

Requirements For Cybersecurity Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certification in Cybersecurity (CISSP preferred)
  • Understanding of Industrial Control System security principles
  • Working knowledge of SCADA/HMI systems
  • Experience implementing and administering OT controls
  • Experience collaborating with OT and IT teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends/on-call when required
