Description For Electrical Test Engineer - Weekend Shift

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is at the forefront of the urgent transition to fusion energy. We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join our weekend shift team in Devens, MA. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to design and build commercially viable fusion power plants.

As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will:

  • Provide engineering support for all current HTS test equipment
  • Act as a technical expert, supporting technicians and driving repairs and improvements
  • Identify opportunities to enhance quality, reliability, pace, and efficiency of test operations
  • Ensure tests collect required data for end-users
  • Implement systems for reliable and maintainable test equipment
  • Support process development for HTS magnet integration and testing
  • Assist in design reviews, wiring lists, P&IDs, schematics, and operations software development
  • Analyze test data, investigate anomalies, and present results to physicists and engineers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration & test discrepancies
  • Contribute to future factory expansion plans

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related science field
  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer operating complex electromechanical systems
  • Experience with cryogenic equipment, test procedures, and transitioning products from R&D to production
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making

  • 5+ years' experience as an engineer operating or maintaining complex electromechanical systems
  • 5+ years' experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics hardware and test software
  • Experience with cryogenic and/or refrigeration equipment design
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures
  • Experience taking products from R&D into production
  • Experience building a data-driven argument
  • Experience debugging electrical systems using multimeters and/or oscilloscopes
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
