Description For EMC Compliance Engineer

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is at the forefront of commercial fusion energy development, collaborating with MIT to leverage decades of research and groundbreaking high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. Our mission is to deploy compact fusion power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as quickly as possible. We're seeking an experienced EMC Compliance Engineer to join our SPARC team and lead the development and implementation of EMI and grounding strategies for our tokamak and plant systems.

As an EMC Compliance Engineer at CFS, you'll be tackling the intricate challenges of electromagnetic interference, compatibility, and grounding in a high-energy fusion environment. You'll lead the development of EMI/EMC and ESD control plans, contribute to SPARC grounding guidelines, conduct voltage assessments, and implement ground fault monitoring schemes. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and compliance of our systems with relevant standards.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in EMCI/EMI, grounding, and electrical engineering for large-scale projects. You should have a strong background in PCB-level EMI design, familiarity with industry standards, and proficiency in EMI/EMC simulation tools. Your problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams will be essential in this fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Join CFS and be part of a mission-driven team working to combat climate change through limitless, clean fusion power. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where innovative thinking and multifaceted perspectives drive our success. If you're ready to contribute to a groundbreaking energy solution and thrive in a challenging technical role, we want to hear from you.
