As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you'll join their Scientific Software team, working on critical applications that support superconducting magnet manufacturing and tokamak development. The role focuses on maintaining and expanding an internal web app that manages the world's largest HTS test dataset, built with modern TypeScript practices using React and Next.js. This position offers a unique blend of web development expertise and applied physics, requiring strong technical skills and cross-disciplinary communication. Responsibilities For Full-Stack Software Engineer

  • Expand and maintain a web application developed in TypeScript (React and Next.js)
  • Respond and recover if/when the app fails in production; share on-call duty with teammates
  • Design and implement frontend user interfaces, with emphasis on plotting/visualizing technical data
  • Work with internal users to define and solve their needs
  • Train internal users

Requirements For Full-Stack Software Engineer

TypeScript
React
  • Experience working on a production web application, preferably as a technical lead
  • TypeScript programming language expertise
  • Frontend web development experience, preferably React
  • Backend web development in TypeScript, including interfaces to SQL databases
  • On-call experience for operations/support of a web application
  • Ability to develop high-quality software using linting, testing, code review, and documentation
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction
