Description For Manufacturing Engineer - NPI

As a Manufacturing Engineer at CFS, you will play a crucial role in transitioning new products from development to full-scale production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, quality assurance, supply chain, and production, to ensure the introduction of new products to manufacturing. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with moving products from R&D into manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with product design and development teams
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing processes for new products
  • Designing and optimizing production layouts, tooling, and fixtures
  • Conducting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analysis
  • Creating and maintaining process documentation
  • Coordinating with supply chain and planning teams
  • Developing and analyzing manufacturing performance metrics
  • Providing hands-on training and support to production personnel
  • Troubleshooting and resolving production and quality issues
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer - NPI

  • Collaborate with product design and development teams to develop and understand product specifications, requirements, and manufacturing challenges
  • Develop, implement, and qualify manufacturing processes for new products
  • Design and optimize production layouts, tooling, and fixtures to support efficient manufacturing
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analysis to improve product design
  • Create and maintain process documentation
  • Coordinate with the supply chain and planning teams to source components and materials
  • Develop, monitor and analyze manufacturing performance metrics
  • Provide hands-on training and support to production personnel
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer - NPI

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with experience transitioning products from R&D to manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Perform activities such as typing, standing, stooping, and sitting, for extended periods of time
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
