Responsibilities For Materials Test Engineer

  • Evaluate, test and qualify materials and components for structural and functional applications
  • Design and develop test fixtures for mechanical testing using CAD
  • Design and develop test methods on mechanical test frames
  • Provide technical guidance to project team members
  • Ensure efficient transfer of property data to engineering design teams
  • Work with safety team to manage hazards
  • Collaborate with R&D teams and supply chain team
  • Execute test validation and analysis

Requirements For Materials Test Engineer

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in mechanical properties testing
  • Understanding of testing at extreme temperatures
  • Strong knowledge in CAD
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of materials mechanical testing concepts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends occasionally
