Since 2018, they've secured over $2 billion in funding, making them the most well-funded fusion energy company in the U.S. They're seeking a Metrology Engineer to join their mission-driven team in developing and qualifying mechanical inspection techniques for the SPARC project.

Responsibilities For Metrology Engineer

  • Develop advanced mechanical inspection techniques for complex inspection challenges
  • Qualify and document techniques under quality engineering guidance
  • Work collaboratively with quality and manufacturing engineers
  • Evaluate new investments in advanced metrology equipment
  • Maintain metrology equipment and perform 5S activities
  • Provide design for inspection input for engineering drawings and standards
  • Cross-train as quality technician for routine inspections
  • Summarize and present results of critical dimensional inspections
  • Design and procure fixturing to support inspections

Requirements For Metrology Engineer

  • Bachelors degree in engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or field environment
  • Experience developing advanced metrology techniques
  • Experience presenting technical information
  • Interpretation of complex mechanical drawings and GD&T
  • Knowledge of standard machining processes
  • Experience programming metrology or manufacturing equipment
  • CAD design experience
  • CMM programming experience (Zeiss Calypso preferred)
  • Experience using portable metrology equipment
  • Knowledge of basic quality systems requirements
  • Ability to utilize Atlassian productivity tools
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
