Responsibilities For Principal Environmental Engineer

  • Serve as subject matter expert on environmental regulations and compliance issues
  • Design and implement environmental management systems, policies, and programs
  • Analyze complex environmental data to identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Lead technical aspects of environmental projects
  • Drive CFS's ESG performance
  • Oversee large-scale environmental projects
  • Manage permitting processes with EPA and state-specific agencies
  • Interface with regulatory agencies
  • Build relationships with regulators, external consultants, and contractors
  • Stay up to date on new environmental technologies and regulations

Requirements For Principal Environmental Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting or industrial environmental management
  • Deep understanding of environmental regulations at local, state, and federal levels
  • Strong technical skills in environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance monitoring
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
