The Senior Electrical Engineer - Battery Storage Systems role is a crucial position within the SPARC team, reporting to the Director of Power Systems. This role demands a skilled professional to lead complex electrical design projects for battery storage systems essential to fusion power generation. The position involves comprehensive responsibility for all stages of battery storage system development, from prototyping to final commissioning.

Responsibilities For Senior Electrical Engineer - Battery Storage Systems

  • Lead complex technical design activities for battery storage systems
  • Design and engineer battery systems in collaboration with vendors
  • Lead system prototype testing at internal and external labs
  • Develop test bed for cyclic, aging and thermal testing
  • Lead system integration, installation, commissioning and debugging
  • Interface with cross functional teams
  • Support critical procurement contracts & vendor coordination
  • Apply electrical safety practices & compliance standards
  • Document design specifications, simulations and test results

Requirements For Senior Electrical Engineer - Battery Storage Systems

  • 8+ years of experience with Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with 6+ years in battery/PV storage systems
  • Proven track record in design and field execution of battery storage systems
  • Experience in deployment and troubleshooting of battery storage systems
  • Experience with battery management systems and telemetry systems
  • Experience with modeling, simulation and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
  • Ability to work in industrial environment with various hazards
