The Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Supply Design role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge fusion power technology. Reporting to the Director of Power Systems in the SPARC team, you'll lead complex electrical design projects focusing on high-current power supplies essential for fusion power generation.

Key responsibilities include designing IGBT/MOSFET-based power electronics systems, developing technical specifications for voltage systems, and leading critical procurement efforts. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, applying your expertise in power electronics and magnetics to solve complex engineering challenges.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of power electronics experience, with proven expertise in DC/DC and AC/DC power supply design at high currents. You'll need strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication capabilities to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities For Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Supply Design

  • Lead complex technical design activities for IGBT/MOSFET power electronics based high current DC/DC and AC/DC power supplies
  • Lead development of technical specifications for Medium Voltage & Low Voltage power electronics & electrical components
  • Design, model, simulate, analyze and validate power electronics circuits
  • Interface with cross functional teams
  • Lead critical procurement contracts & vendor coordination
  • Apply best electrical safety practices & compliance standards

Requirements For Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Supply Design

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of power electronics and magnetics experience
  • Experience with semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs etc.)
  • Experience with design analysis tools such as PSPICE, MATLAB, MathCAD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Willingness to travel or work outside of standard work hours as needed
