Senior Process Engineer, Fueling Systems

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is at the forefront of fusion energy development, working to create commercially viable fusion power plants. With over $2 billion in funding since 2018, CFS is constructing the SPARC fusion machine while simultaneously developing their first electrical power-producing fusion device, ARC.

The Senior Process Engineer role focuses on managing fueling systems for both SPARC and ARC projects. The position involves hands-on work with gas handling, processing, and vacuum systems, requiring expertise in high radiation environments and high-temperature heat transfer systems. The role is highly cross-functional, involving collaboration with R&D, construction, and operations teams.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in designing fluidic and gas handling systems, with strong knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols. They will work on critical aspects of the SPARC fuel system, from construction management to commissioning and performance verification. For the ARC project, they will handle plant-wide thermal and process gas loads, designing various subsystems for the 400 MWe output facility.
