Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is at the forefront of fusion energy development, backed by over $2 billion in capital since 2018. We're seeking a Senior Process Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our SPARC Instrumentation and Control team. This role is crucial in designing and implementing control systems for advanced fusion power plant components.
The position involves working with complex fluid systems including high temperature and cryogenic helium, nitrogen, hydrogen, noble gases, water, ultra-high vacuum, and industrial HVAC. You'll be responsible for integrating these I&C systems with central control systems for machine operations, plasma control, safety, and data acquisition.
As a Senior Engineer, you'll lead the design and implementation of critical control systems, working closely with lead engineers and stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met. The role demands expertise in industrial control systems, particularly with Siemens SIMATIC S7 products and AVEVA software.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in process control engineering, with knowledge of IEEE and IEC standards, and a strong understanding of safety protocols for fluid-based systems. Experience with cryogenic systems, industrial HVAC, vacuum systems, and hazardous gas systems is highly valued.
CFS offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment driven by our values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique. We're committed to diversity and equal opportunity employment, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds who share our mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy.
