Description For Senior Supplier Development Engineer

As a Senior Supplier Development Engineer, you'll be a crucial link between suppliers and internal teams. Your goal is to foster strong relationships with suppliers while ensuring they meet quality and production requirements. You'll spend significant time on-site with vendors, reviewing engineering requirements, identifying process gaps, and driving improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a technical liaison between suppliers and internal teams
  • Reviewing and advising on engineering requirements for complex components
  • Identifying and closing process gaps at vendor sites
  • Resolving supplier-related challenges to meet key milestones
  • Implementing process controls and quality plans
  • Supporting ISO 9001:2015 implementation
  • Developing in-process inspection and test procedures
  • Conducting process capability studies and measurement systems analysis
  • Driving cost reduction projects
  • Managing supplier contracts and performance
  • Leading and mentoring team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in Engineering or Supply Chain
  • Experience with supplier assessments, audits, and quality management systems
  • Knowledge of machining processes and magnet manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with CAD and GD&T
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
