As a Senior Supplier Development Engineer, you'll be a crucial link between suppliers and internal teams. Your goal is to foster strong relationships with suppliers while ensuring they meet quality and production requirements. You'll spend significant time on-site with vendors, reviewing engineering requirements, identifying process gaps, and driving improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a technical liaison between suppliers and internal teams
- Reviewing and advising on engineering requirements for complex components
- Identifying and closing process gaps at vendor sites
- Resolving supplier-related challenges to meet key milestones
- Implementing process controls and quality plans
- Supporting ISO 9001:2015 implementation
- Developing in-process inspection and test procedures
- Conducting process capability studies and measurement systems analysis
- Driving cost reduction projects
- Managing supplier contracts and performance
- Leading and mentoring team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 6+ years of experience in Engineering or Supply Chain
- Experience with supplier assessments, audits, and quality management systems
- Knowledge of machining processes and magnet manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Familiarity with CAD and GD&T
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
