Backup Engineer (AU Managed Services, Home-based)

ConnectOS is seeking a Backup Engineer for their AU Managed Services team. This home-based role requires at least 5 years of IT Systems Support experience and 2+ years administering enterprise backup software. The ideal candidate will have experience with servers, backend infrastructure, and working within the ITIL framework. Key responsibilities include managing cloud backups, resolving backup failures, providing infrastructure support, and performing maintenance tasks. Required Skills:

• 5+ years in IT Systems Support
• 2+ years administering enterprise backup software (e.g., Veeam, Shadowprotect, Commvault, Azure Backup)
• 2+ years experience with servers and backend infrastructure
• Experience with ITIL framework
• Configuring disk and tape backup solutions

Preferred Skills:

• Veeam Certified Engineer or similar certification
• Experience in multi-tenanted environments
• Previous role with IT&T System Integrator or Service Provider
• Understanding of Linux/Unix and PowerShell

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage cloud backup results
• Triage and resolve backup failures
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level backup infrastructure support
• Manage customer backup infrastructure
• Perform maintenance and auditing tasks
• Implement best practices for configurations
• Conduct regular health checks on backup environments
• Work with onboarding team for new customers
• Adhere to ITIL Framework processes
