Responsibilities For Senior Backend Engineer
- Apply PHP/Java skills to maintain and improve existing APIs
- Reverse-engineer mission-critical backend services in Java
- Work with product managers on requirements and delivery iterations
- Design analytics systems from client contracts to database structure
- Create unit tests and work with QA
- Improve codebase test coverage
- Collaborate on system design improvements
- Contribute to architectural roadmap
- Mentor less experienced engineers
- Debug production systems
- Improve system alerting, monitoring, and logging
- Remove technical debt
Requirements For Senior Backend Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience with PHP 7.x
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Spring/Spring Boot
- 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS)
- Expert level understanding of Java 1.8+
- Mastery-level understanding of REST and API development
- Strong SQL experience
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
- Good communication skills and strong work ethic
- Experience with Git and CI workflows
- Strong Unix/Linux command-line skills
