Description For Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d)

Become part of the Ninetailed Team, pioneer of composable personalization and experimentation within the Contentful family. At Ninetailed by Contentful, you will help revolutionize personalization & experimentation for leading businesses worldwide. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and optimizing data pipelines that power our Insights product. Your work will enable our customers to derive impactful, data-driven insights through a robust and scalable data infrastructure.

What to expect?

  • Design and develop cloud-native data pipelines for event ingestion, transformation and storage, utilizing a variety of data processing frameworks.
  • Implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms, transforming data science concepts into production-ready solutions that deliver customer value.
  • Collaborate closely with your peers, and other teams to ensure efficient data flow and integration across the data stack.
  • Develop and optimize data processes to handle high-volume datasets, ensuring data reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with data security and privacy standards, focusing on GDPR requirements.

What you need to be successful

  • Proven experience in building data products that ingest and process billions of analytics events, delivering value to customers through insights and analytics.
  • Strong expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines using cloud-native tools. Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform data stack is a significant plus.
  • Ability to design, implement, deploy, and operate statistical and machine learning models in production environments at scale.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts used for A/B Testing, attribution and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy and frameworks such as PyMC, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn or others.
  • Proficiency in Python for data workflows, data modeling, and statistical implementation, along with SQL for data querying. Familiarity with TypeScript is beneficial for working effectively with backend teams.
  • Experience with writing and maintaining automated tests, using testing frameworks like Great Expectations, Soda Core, or GCP Dataform assertions, as well as Python testing tools like PyTest or unittest.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices, ideally using tools like Terraform, to ensure a reproducible and scalable data environment.
  • Proactive approach with a high sense of ownership.
  • Great communication skills in English, especially when explaining complex technical concepts.
