Responsibilities For Principal Security Engineer

  • Lead the development of the organization's security architecture strategy
  • Identify and prioritize critical security initiatives based on risk assessments
  • Design and implement security frameworks and architectures
  • Provide subject matter expertise on secure coding practices
  • Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Evaluate and recommend security technologies
  • Lead the implementation and integration of security technologies
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
  • Mentor and guide junior security engineers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and enforce security policies
  • Lead the design and implementation of incident response plans

Requirements For Principal Security Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in information security
  • Proven experience in leading security initiatives
  • Proficiency in Python/Golang
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, SOC2, ISO 27001, CIS)
  • Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, application security
  • Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, encryption, and IAM solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SABSA are highly desirable
