Description For Senior Detection and Response Engineer

As a Senior Detection and Response Engineer at CoreWeave, you will join a 24/7 Security Operations team and play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's information assets. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced threat detection systems to protect our digital assets against cyber threats. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write custom detection logic while working with the Security Operations team
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the security operations center (SOC)
  • Monitor and report the health of security sensors across CoreWeave's environment
  • Develop and implement security monitoring and detection strategies
  • Conduct threat hunting activities
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to investigate security incidents
  • Contribute to security incident response plans and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
  • Stay updated on latest security trends and make recommendations
  • Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives

Required Skills:

  • Ability to deliver small to medium-sized projects across technical disciplines
  • Strong experience writing custom alert logic in major SIEMs
  • Intermediate understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals
  • Experience with Purple Team & Red Team engagements
  • Knowledge of modern TTP frameworks
  • Proficiency in query languages and programming languages
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux or macOS internals and event sources
  • Hands-on experience applying the Incident Response Lifecycle

CoreWeave offers a competitive salary range of $180,000-$210,000, based on factors such as market location, qualifications, experience, and interview performance. The company provides a hybrid work environment, allowing employees flexibility between in-office and remote work. For candidates not living within 30 miles of an office, remote work may be considered for those with strongly aligned skills and experience.

  • Intermediate understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals

  • Knowledge of modern TTP frameworks (Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK)
  • Functional knowledge of at least 1 query language (SQL, Splunk, HiveQL, Humio, FQL)
  • Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go, JavaScript)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux or macOS internals
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux or macOS event sources (eBPF, Endpoint Security Framework)
  • Hands-on experience applying the Incident Response Lifecycle
