CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Detection and Response Engineer to join their 24/7 Security Operations team. This role combines technical expertise in security operations with strategic thinking to protect the organization's digital assets. The position offers a competitive salary range of $180,000-$210,000 and comprehensive benefits.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced threat detection systems, writing custom detection logic, and working collaboratively with the Security Operations team. Key responsibilities include monitoring security incidents, conducting threat hunting activities, and developing security strategies to identify and mitigate threats in real-time.
Technical requirements include experience with SIEM systems, Kubernetes, and proficiency in multiple programming languages. The role demands strong knowledge of Linux/macOS systems, query languages, and modern security frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK. The position requires both technical depth and the ability to work effectively across teams.

Responsibilities For Senior Detection and Response Engineer
- Write custom detection logic while working with the Security Operations team
- Monitor and analyze security incidents and alerts in the SOC
- Monitor security sensors across CoreWeave's environment
- Develop and implement security monitoring and detection strategies
- Conduct threat hunting activities
- Coordinate security incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Contribute to security incident response plans
- Collaborate on implementing security controls and policies
- Stay current with security trends and make recommendations
- Participate in security assessments and compliance initiatives
Requirements For Senior Detection and Response Engineer
- Experience writing custom alert logic in major SIEM systems
- Intermediate understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals
- Experience with Purple Team & Red Team engagements
- Knowledge of modern TTP frameworks (Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK)
- Functional knowledge of at least 1 query language
- Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages
- Intermediate knowledge of Linux or macOS internals
- Intermediate knowledge of Linux or macOS event sources
- Hands-on experience with Incident Response Lifecycle
- Ability to deliver small to medium sized projects
