Staff Backend Engineer (Global Ops Tech)

Coupang is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for the Global Inventory and Promise Systems team. This role is crucial in empowering Coupang's Fulfillment & Transportation operations through modern, reliable, and data-driven technologies. The position involves technical leadership in Fulfillment optimization and developing Simulation infrastructure alongside a data-science team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading cross-functional projects in fulfillment optimization
• Ensuring high-quality architecture and design of systems
• Mentoring team members and guiding career growth
• Developing complex functions for data transformation
• Growing analytics capabilities with improved data pipelines

The ideal candidate will have:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including Java
• Strong understanding of backend scalable software architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with stream-processing systems and data caching
• Knowledge of eCommerce and supply chain optimization
