Software Engineer III, Membership

The Membership team at Crunchyroll is responsible for building and maintaining systems that grant different levels of benefits for users. This role is directly tied to one of the main revenue streams and focuses on quality code, service reliability, and teamwork. Daily work includes payment provider integrations, customer support and marketing initiatives, and assisting growth opportunities. The team processes millions of subscriptions in a highly secure, distributed, and scalable environment.

As a Software Engineer III, Membership, you will:

• Work on subscription features impacting millions of users internationally
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to break down complex features into attainable milestones
• Take ownership of tasks from start to finish, ensuring high-quality contributions
• Review pull requests and participate in code reviews
• Participate in on-call shifts to respond to incidents affecting subscription services

Required qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, with significant backend development experience
• Strong understanding of computer science principles and design patterns
• Experience with distributed systems or microservice architecture
• Expertise in TypeScript
• Proficiency in Node.js or Golang
• Experience with databases like MySQL/PostgresDB/MariaDB/MongoDB
• Familiarity with AWS/GCP technologies
• Ability to write clean, functional, and testable code
• Experience with subscription-based models and high-scale systems
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
