Senior Staff/Principal Software Engineer - Cloud

Crusoe Energy is seeking Senior Staff / Principal Software engineers to help design and scale their carbon-reducing cloud computing platform, Crusoe Cloud. As a Senior Staff / Principal engineer, you will play a crucial role in guiding the engineering team's overall architectural strategy, influencing technological direction and financial outcomes. You'll be instrumental in cultivating the engineering ethos, establishing scalable practices, and spearheading the development of Crusoe Cloud.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with product teams, engineers, and infrastructure to craft robust, scalable systems across global data centers.
• Developing scalable, fault-tolerant patterns and practices for the engineering team.
• Leading initiatives such as tech talks, open source development, and book clubs.
• Designing and executing groundbreaking features and projects, from bare metal to user-facing APIs.
• Shaping the roadmap for cloud products and guiding engineering endeavors.
• Mentoring emerging engineers and fostering teamwork and continuous learning.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Expertise in modern languages like Go, Rust, Java, or C++
• Strong background in architecture and design of new and current systems
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures and algorithm design
• Experience in building and maintaining scalable, highly available fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices, infrastructure tools, and Unix/Linux environments
• Excellent communication skills and alignment with company values

Crusoe Energy offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $290,000 - $320,000, Restricted Stock Units, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) matching, and various other perks.
