Description For Deputy Instrumentation Engineer, Packing Plant

Dangote Group is seeking a Deputy Instrumentation Engineer for their Packing Plant in Ibese, Ogun State, Nigeria. This full-time role in the DCP - Operations department requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in instrumentation and control systems.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising the maintenance of instrumentation equipment, particularly for Roto-packers (preferably H&B) and Auto-loaders. Key responsibilities include planning shutdown maintenance, calibrating instruments and their communications, performing loop checking and communication with PLC/DCS, and maintaining UPS and weighbridges.

The role involves raising purchase requisitions for plant spares, troubleshooting instrumentation circuits during breakdowns, allocating manpower, and conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures. The engineer will also ensure compliance with ISO/EMS/OHSAS Standards.

Qualifications include a BSc/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in control room monitoring systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities For Deputy Instrumentation Engineer, Packing Plant

  • Supervises maintenance of instrumentation equipment's of Roto-packers preferably H&B, Auto-loaders
  • Plans for shut down maintenance
  • Calibration of instruments and its communications
  • Loop checking & communication with PLC/DCS
  • Knowledge of UPS and weighbridges maintenance
  • Raises purchase requisitions for the plant spares in the department
  • Trouble shooting of instrumentation circuit during breakdown / stoppages
  • Raises store reservations for maintenance of Equipment's
  • Allocation of manpower
  • Carries out RCA on equipment failures and remedy
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/EMS/OHSAS Standards
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the HOD

Requirements For Deputy Instrumentation Engineer, Packing Plant

  • BSc/HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
