Description For IT Asset Management (ITAM) Engineer

We are seeking an IT Asset Management Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team at Dangote Group. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking, managing, and optimizing IT assets across the entire organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining an accurate inventory of all IT assets (hardware, software, and services)
  • Tracking asset location, status, and ownership
  • Managing software licenses and ensuring compliance
  • Coordinating asset procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
  • Identifying and mitigating IT asset-related risks
  • Continuously improving ITAM processes
  • Collaborating with various teams including IT, finance, and procurement

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • ITIL Foundation, CMDB, or related certifications (preferred)
  • Proficiency in ITAM tools such as ServiceNow
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities For IT Asset Management (ITAM) Engineer

  • Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and services
  • Track asset location, status, and ownership; ensure accurate asset data and reporting
  • Manage software licenses, ensure compliance with licensing agreements, and optimize license usage
  • Coordinate asset procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
  • Identify and mitigate IT asset-related risks, such as security threats and compliance issues
  • Continuously assess and improve ITAM processes, leveraging industry best practices and tools
  • Work with various teams, including IT, finance, and procurement, to ensure effective IT asset management

Requirements For IT Asset Management (ITAM) Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree (BSc/BE) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years in IT Asset Management in a large company
  • Proficiency in ITAM tools, such as ServiceNow
  • Understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
  • Knowledge of various types of IT assets (servers, workstations, networking equipment, software licenses)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, particularly asset and configuration management
  • Basic understanding of vendor contracts, SLAs, and procurement processes
  • ITIL Foundation, CMDB, or related certifications are a plus
