Description For Field Engineer

Datacom, one of Australasia's largest professional IT services companies, is seeking a Field Engineer for their Rotorua, New Zealand location. This challenging and interesting role is integral to the service provided to clients, offering on-site desktop and engineering support across various IT environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support across multiple clients and locations (valid NZ driver's license required)
  • Build and support end-user devices (PCs, laptops, thin clients, printers, mobiles, tablets, point of sale equipment)
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot, and solve problems
  • Offer network support
  • Provide Windows desktop and server support
  • Build productive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers
  • Continually innovate in the work environment

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Wide range of general IT skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency (due to client security requirements)
