Datadog is seeking a Business Systems Engineer II to join their team. This role combines project and stakeholder management with hands-on technical work. You'll work with teams across Datadog to improve processes through system integrations and workflow automations. The Business Systems team drives efficiency and velocity across the organization through process optimizations, automations, and integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Learning how business systems function within Datadog and identifying areas for improvement
- Architecting, building, and maintaining system integrations and process automations
- Planning, prioritizing, and delivering system enhancements
- Creating and maintaining internal documentation and processes
- Collaborating with Security, Privacy & Compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards
The ideal candidate should have:
- 2+ years as a business system administrator or in a similar role
- 2+ years leading cross-functional projects in Finance, HR, and Sales
- Experience with middleware integration tools
- Comfort with code (e.g., Python, SQL) and willingness to learn enterprise-grade systems

Responsibilities For Business Systems Engineer II
- Learn how business systems currently function and identify technical gaps and areas for improvement
- Architect, build, and maintain system integrations and process automations
- Plan, prioritize, and deliver system enhancements; execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Create and maintain internal documentation and processes
- Collaborate with Security, Privacy & Compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
Requirements For Business Systems Engineer II
- 2+ years as a business system administrator (e.g., NetSuite, Zendesk, Salesforce or Workday) or in a similar role
- 2+ years leading small to medium sized cross-functional projects from requirements gathering to go-live across Finance, HR, and Sales
- Prior experience integrating systems using middleware (e.g., Workato, Boomi, Mulesoft, Zapier)
- Comfortable with code (e.g., Python, SQL) and excited to learn and develop across enterprise-grade systems
- Ability to analyze business requirements, design and configure recommended solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills
- Prior experience making buy vs build decisions
