Description For Sales Engineer, West

As a Sales Engineer at Dataiku, you'll be part of a team that has closed some of Dataiku's most important sales with well-known companies. Your role will involve qualifying deals, conducting discovery meetings, articulating usage scenarios, and demonstrating Dataiku's business value to customers. You'll design and create demonstrations, Proofs-of-Concept (POC), and evaluations to illustrate how Dataiku delivers value better than competitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Account Executives and Business Development Representatives to qualify deals
  • Conducting discovery meetings to understand customer requirements and technical environments
  • Designing and executing demonstrations, POCs, and evaluations
  • Providing technical guidance to customers
  • Assisting in sales pipeline building activities

To be successful, you'll need:

  • Strong natural and intellectual curiosity, especially in applying technology to solve problems
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, preferably in a high-growth environment
  • Familiarity with data storage and computing infrastructure (SQL, NoSQL, Kubernetes, Spark, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of customer teams
  • Experience in Analytics/AI or other enterprise software
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, growing company

Responsibilities For Sales Engineer, West

  • Qualify deals through collaboration with the Account Executive (AE), the Business Development Representative (BDR), and sales management
  • Conduct Discovery meetings and learn from the customer and the BDR about the customer's business requirements and technical environment
  • Articulate usage scenarios that illustrate the business value desired by the customer
  • Use Dataiku to demonstrate the business value articulated in the usage scenarios
  • Design and create Dataiku demonstrations, Proofs-of-Concept (POC), and evaluations
  • Execute demonstrations, POCs, and evaluations through coordination of resources
  • Answer questions and provide technical guidance to the customer's technical team
  • Assist in sales pipeline building activities

Requirements For Sales Engineer, West

Kubernetes
  • Strong natural and intellectual curiosity especially around the application of technology to solve problems
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, preferably in a high-growth environment
  • Experience in the data science, analytics, or big data markets preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with data storage and computing infrastructure for data of all sizes (SQL, NoSQL, Kubernetes, Spark, etc)
  • Comfortability talking to all levels of customer teams from individual contributors to C-level executives
  • Experience in Analytics/AI or other enterprise software
  • Previously worked in a fast paced, growing company
