The Lead Full Stack Engineer role focuses on the internal platform team, working on developer velocity, infrastructure reliability, and operational excellence. As a technical leader of a small team, you'll collaborate with the Engineering Manager to design systems, lead implementation, and mentor teammates. The position involves building internal tools using Ruby, React JS, and PostgreSQL, managing AWS infrastructure, and improving developer workflows. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience, strong Ruby and PostgreSQL expertise, and DevOps knowledge. Responsibilities For Lead Full-Stack Ruby Engineer - Infrastructure and DevOps

  • Design and build internal tools, systems, and services using Ruby, React JS, and PostgreSQL
  • Lead architecture and implementation of core platform capabilities—from CI/CD improvements to observability and deploy tooling
  • Help manage and evolve our Heroku and AWS infrastructures
  • Own reliability and performance of shared systems, including background jobs, secrets management, job queues, and CI pipelines
  • Work closely with product teams to improve developer workflows, reduce operational friction, and build tools for delivery, monitoring, and debugging
  • Partner with Engineering Manager to guide technical direction, set best practices, and grow team skills
  • Act as a mentor and technical resource for other engineers across the org
  • Participate in on-call rotation and help build a culture of reliability and ownership

Requirements For Lead Full-Stack Ruby Engineer - Infrastructure and DevOps

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Strong experience building and maintaining Ruby applications in production
  • Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL—data modeling, query performance, and migrations
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and cloud-native tooling
  • Solid knowledge of DevOps principles: automation, observability, scaling, and release management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with product engineers, EMs, and leadership
  • Passion for building tools that make other engineers more effective and productive
