Senior Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

DAZN is seeking a talented Senior Backend Developer for their Technology Management & Performance Engineering team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based applications using Node.js, APIs, and AWS technologies. The Performance Engineering team is responsible for ensuring the DAZN Platform scales and performs for millions of concurrent users, involving load testing, identifying and solving performance bottlenecks, and cost optimization for compute.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop cloud-based applications using Node.js and AWS
• Work on load testing the platform for various traffic patterns
• Collaborate with AWS, vendors, and internal teams to solve performance issues
• Evaluate alternate solutions like databases and run POCs
• Contribute to cost optimization for compute resources

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Node.js and AWS development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript for backend development
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFormation, CloudFront, CloudWatch)
• Knowledge of serverless computing, microservices architecture, and containerization
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
