Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/AWS/K8s) - Infra Engineering

Deel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Infra Engineering team. This role is crucial in supporting Deel's engineering growth and building a platform for product teams to ship business value faster. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of engineering experience, strong Node.js knowledge, and expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.

The Infra Engineering team at Deel operates at the intersection of DevOps and engineering, focusing on enforcing standards and best practices, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, providing architectural guidance, and owning some high-loaded core services. The role involves 70% Engineering and 30% DevOps work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Participating in product planning from discovery to deployment
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop robust features and APIs
• Continuously improving industry-leading products
• Ensuring customers receive a white-glove experience

Required skills:

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• Strong Node.js knowledge
• AWS or similar cloud experience
• Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker knowledge
• Experience with Postgres/MySQL, RabbitMQ/NATS/Kafka
• Strong system design and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for orchestrating projects across multiple teams
• Hands-on troubleshooting abilities
