With over $100M in funding and strong fundamentals in market systems and startup scaling, they're developing commercial-scale projects with dedicated geologic storage in Quebec.

The CFD Engineer role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of climate innovation, working on cutting-edge Direct Air Capture technology. You'll be responsible for conducting sophisticated CFD simulations, optimizing airflow patterns, and developing 3D models for DAC systems. This position combines advanced engineering expertise with real environmental impact.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of CFD modeling experience, advanced proficiency in simulation tools like ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM, and a strong background in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering. You'll work with a multidisciplinary team in a remote environment, contributing to groundbreaking carbon removal infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities For CFD Engineer, Direct Air Capture

  • Conduct CFD simulations to model and optimize airflow patterns between DAC units and within air contactors
  • Utilize advanced turbulence models, multiphase flow analysis, and heat/mass transfer simulations
  • Design and develop 3D models of DAC components and systems using CAD software
  • Perform fluid-structure interaction analysis
  • Assess various design configurations for efficient airflow paths
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Validate CFD models through experimental data
  • Document simulation results and technical findings
  • Stay up-to-date with latest advancements in CFD and direct air capture technologies

Requirements For CFD Engineer, Direct Air Capture

Python
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CFD modeling and simulation
  • Advanced proficiency in ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or similar CFD software
  • Strong understanding of turbulence models, multiphase flows, and heat/mass transfer
  • Experience in 3D modeling using CAD tools
  • Proven ability to analyze complex fluid dynamics problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in renewable energy or carbon capture industry
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and large-scale airflow systems
  • Knowledge of materials science
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other programming languages
