Destinus is seeking a skilled Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineer with experience in military or aerospace electromechanical devices and munitions. The role focuses on designing and developing UAV munition systems, requiring expertise in both mechanical and electronic sub-systems. The position demands hands-on engineering experience, taking products from prototype to production. Key responsibilities include prototype development, testing, documentation, and supplier engagement. The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of experience in defense/aerospace, strong technical skills, and be comfortable with hybrid working arrangements based in Madrid, Spain. The role involves travel for test programs and supplier visits, requiring a driver's license and excellent interpersonal skills. Responsibilities For Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineer
- Design and develop electro-mechanical and mechanical devices for UAV munition systems
- Assemble prototypes for development testing and evaluation & oversee pilot builds
- Assist test programs for functional and environmental testing
- Organize and accurately document product data throughout the life cycle
- Ensure smooth transition from prototype to production through documentation and data management
- Provide technical expertise to the supply chain to qualify and source suitable suppliers
Requirements For Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineer
- Bachelors or Masters degree (B.Sc/B.Eng) in mechanical/Mechatronic engineering
- 4+ years of experience in defense and/or aerospace environment or similar (post-graduation)
- Computer-aided design (Siemens NX preferred)
- Proficient in electromechanical system design, including switches, sensors, actuators, and control systems
- Hands-on experience assembling and testing prototype hardware
- Good understanding of product data management in a production environment
- Experience in generating and organizing product data for implementation
- Strong technical communication and reporting skills
- Product Development Experience
- Drivers license
- Good interpersonal skills
- Open to traveling to test ranges during product development cycles
